Please read this policy page in full prior to committing to one of our babies. By placing a deposit, you have read in full and agreed to each of our policies.

DEPOSIT POLICIES 

 

• All deposits can be placed through Venmo.

• At times we will have a waitlist for new babies. Members of our waitlist will receive first pick of the new babies.

• To secure an available baby or your spot on our waitlist, you must place a $50 deposit for your new hedgehog. 

• All deposits are nonrefundable; however, they are always transferable to future litters. Your deposit will be deducted from the price of your animal.

• We will contact waitlist members when the baby hedgehogs are around four weeks of age. At this time members will have 6 hours to select their baby before we move down the list. If a member would like to pass on the current selection of babies, you MUST let us know when we contact you in order to remain and move up on our waitlist for future babies.

• If we do not receive a response after contact regarding selecting a baby, we will remove you from our waitlist until further contact is made by you.

• If we do not receive any further contact from you within 6 months, your deposit will lose eligibility and a new deposit would be required to join our waitlist.

• The outstanding balance must be paid CASH ONLY upon pickup.

• To place a deposit on one of our retired adults you will first need to have a discussion with us on the specific adult you’re interested in and be approved before the deposit can be placed.

• Deposits placed for one of our babies or our waitlist are NOT transferable to retired adults unless discussed and approved by us.

• We start taking deposits on our kittens when they are at least four weeks of age. To be notified of when we start taking deposits on kittens please contact us to be added to our kitten contact list. No deposit required.

• Kitten deposits are $200 and go towards your final payment due upon pickup, CASH ONLY. 

• You MUST be at least 18 years old to place a deposit.

MEET AND GREET POLICIES

​

• Due to our busy schedule and to ensure a reduced risk of the spread of illness to our animals we do not offer any Meet and Greet services. 

• We are not a pet store nor a retail location you are picking up your animal at our personal residence. For this reason, we do not allow the general public or our waitlist to come meet or handle available babies prior reserving your specific baby. However, we are happy to answer any questions about an available baby listed and send additional pictures and videos to make reserving your new hedgehog as assuring as possible. We want you to feel most affirmed when you are selecting your baby. Though in a safe, efficient manner.

• All reservation is done via our 'Available Hedgehog' page.

• Only after reserving the specific animal of your choice via our 'Available Hedgehogs' page will your time pickup appointment be scheduled.

PRICING POLICIES
 

• Current hedgehog pricing ranges from $275 and up for rare or unusual colors and patterns.

• Because hedgehogs aren’t finished quilling until about 6 months of age, we do not guarantee color of our hedgehogs.

• Generally, our hedgehogs go to pet only homes, however if you are an established pedigreed breeder you can purchase breeding permission and pedigrees for an additional $100.

• Current kitten pricing starts at $800 and up based on coat length, color, etc.

• Kittens are sold as pets only and must be altered by 12 months of age as stated in our kitten wellness agreement.

GIFT POLICIES

​

• We do not sell our babies as surprise gifts as it is important that new owners be a part of the adoption process and pickup appointment.

• While we understand surprising your child or spouse with one of our babies may exciting it's very important to us that they be apart of pickup appointment. This is an ideal time for questions for the breeder as well as an educational time for the breeder to demonstrate how to handle, feed, bathe, trim nails, etc.

• The individual placing the deposit must be the committed owner and care taker of the animal the deposit is for.​

HOUSING & CAGING POLICIES

​

• We will happily help you with recommendations regarding caging, heating, diet, cat litter, etc. You will be provided a care guide when you pick up your new hedgehog or kitten.

• If you use different caging, heating, diets, cat litter, etc. from what is recommended, all health guarantees are void.

PICKUP POLICIES

 

• Estimated timelines for availability; dates of availability are approximated to the best of our ability, but can vary sometimes by several weeks depending on when we feel the animal is ready to go. Hedgehogs must be at least 6 weeks of age and weigh at least 200 grams. Kittens must be at least 8 weeks and cleared by our vet before going to their new home.

• Pickup is by appointment only. Please do not come prior to your scheduled time as we may have other families picking up their new pet.

• Please be on time for your scheduled pickup time. Running early or late can be really impactful to our other scheduled pickup appointments and may result in having to reschedule your pickup day/time. 

• If you are going to be more than 20 minutes late for pick up, you must call to let us know. We may need to reschedule your pickup day/time. Please remember that we are not a pet store or retail location. You are picking up at our home.

• The pickup time is for you and your family alone.

• Pickup location will be provided upon selecting your preferred pickup appointment.

• Pickup appointments usually run around 30 - 45 minutes. At this time you and your family will be invited into our home where we will go over general care, handling, bathing and nail trimming as well as our Wellness Agreement. You are also welcome to ask any and all questions you may have for the breeder at this time.

• Due to limited household space parties of more than four people must let us know prior to the scheduled appointment.

• If an individual in your party has any feline allergies you feel we should be aware of please disclose this with us prior to your arrival. We will accommodate to the best of our ability.

• If your baby is not picked up within 14 days of its ready date you will forfeit your deposit and the baby you've selected.

• Peter’s Exotic Creations will provide the following:

HEALTH GUARANTEES

​

• We have a lifetime warranty against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome. We will replace your hedgehog should it pass away from WHS. To honor this warranty a necropsy must be preformed by your veterinarian within 48 hours of passing away, at owners expense.

• We have a 6 month guarantee on all of our hedgehogs for any congenital defects. We will replace your hedgehog at our discretion should it pass away within that timeframe. However, an autopsy must provided within 48 hours of its passing, paid for by owner.

• We will not replace any hedgehog due to negligence, injury, improper heating, improper diet, or illness not treated or taken care of properly.

OTHER GENERAL HEALTH POLICIES

​

• We are always available to answer any questions you may have, but we are not licensed veterinarians and cannot provide the information that your vet can.

• Before purchasing a hedgehog from us please be sure to identify a veterinarian in your area that treats hedgehogs as not all vets treat exotic animals.

• Please see attached PDF file for our hedgehog and kitten wellness agreement that includes the health guarantee information.

RETURN POLICIES

• All sales of Peter’s Exotic Creation’s animals are final; however, if you decide after getting your new hedgehog or kitty that it is not the right pet for you, you must contact us prior to rehoming it. The animal must either come back to us or new home must be approved by us.

• In the event you return your animal to us there will be no refund of deposit or purchase price. Please do your research before you purchase one of our fur babies.
